It's About DAMN Time (Da Sequel)

Back way in high school(before we were even rapping together)some white boy from Detroit named Eminem, came out with an album called the Slim Shady LP. On said album he had a song featuring an emcee by the name of Royce Da 5'9" named "Bad Meets Evil", named after themselves. At that point, word on the street was that they would put together an album. Now, after years of label politics (BS), recovery from addiction & just general waiting, they're finally gonna drop an EP on 6/14/11.

Needless to say we are really looking forward to this project, but we think this little girl more accurately conveys just how we feel about this...

The IllList #3

Today we talk about a project that's coming out from one of our favorite rappers, eLZhi, called Elmatic. A tribute to Nas' debut, Illmatic

Originally, when we heard about this last year, we thought he was just rapping over the instrumentals from Illmatic (which in & of itself would be dope), but according to a press release, El got together with a band named, Will Sessions, that apparently is known around the Detroit area for being able to play Nas instrumentals, to replay all the music. Check out the first track, "Detroit State of Mind" & see for yourself.

Elmatic will be dropping on 5/10/11 exlcusively on El's website, eLZhi.com

The IllList #2

Initially, these IllList post will seem like we're playing catch up. So please pardon us if you've already been up on this.

That being said this entry is on...

("One of the best, but overlooked like Pusha T." - Marv One)

Quite possibly one of the most underrated emcees out right now, this whole mixtape makes the verse Push spit on MBDTF look like childs play. If you happen to not be up on this I suggest you DL it here.

The IllList

In our attempts to come up with somethin' new (& also keep us updating this site frequently), we've come up with somehtin' we like to call, The IllList (Pronounced Illest).

Basically, we'll use this tag to blog about some of the ill shit we come across & speak a lil about it. It'll primarily be about music, but can include sports, gadgets, current events or anything else that strikes us.

For our first entry, we're gonna talk two albums that dropped recently.

First is Raekwon - Shaolin vs. Wu Tang

Since OB4CLII, Rae has been killin' shit. At this rate, he just might become our favorite member of Wu Tang. Definitely recommended.

Hit the jump for the next one.
